Young Sables target Barthes Trophy

YOUNG Sables coach Shaun De Souza says they want to defend their Barthes Trophy title.

Zimbabwe play Tunisia tomorrow in the semi-finals after thrashing Côte d’Ivoire 55-0 in their first match.

“We are excited and looking forward to the match,” said De Souza.

“We have prepared well.

“As the defending champions, everyone is aiming to beat us but we will take each game as it comes.

“As defending champions we want to retain the title and, hopefully, we bring it home.”

The tournament will serve as the qualifier for the World Rugby Under-20 championships to be held in South Africa later in the year.

The Barthés Trophy is the only junior tournament in Africa and eight national Under-20 teams compete for the title.
