THE Young Warriors will get down to business tomorrow evening when they play Swaziland in their first Cosafa Under-20 Youth Championships in Maseru, Lesotho, tomorrow. The tournament returns after a two-year absence. Zimbabwe are seeking to do well in their three-team group D which also has Botswana.
The Young Zebras, who have won this tournament before, finished third in the last edition they hosted in Gaborone.
Boasting of a strong junior development policy, they will be hoping to progress to the next round.
The Young Warriors are also eager to make a huge statement and go all the way to the final.
Swaziland have not won a match at the Cosafa Under-20 Youth Championships since 2004 and are likely to be the group’s whipping boys.
Zimbabwe has a rich history in the regional tournament and has won a total of six games.
However, the team’s performance, at this level, has been going down and in the last edition in 2011 they bowed out in the group stages.
Under the guidance of Taurai Mangwiro, the team failed to win any match in their group which also had Angola, Namibia and Madagascar.
But the new gaffer Jairosi Tapera is confident his side will do well.

Group C: Namibia, Zambia, South Africa, Namibia, Seychelles.
Group D: Botswana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland.
