developments last week while working on the final touches to his album.
“I am coping well courtesy of my stable Rehab. We are going to drop a sizzling house music album ‘Thy House’ this year comprising the best tracks I have produced so far,” said Youngnash.
The album has 12 tracks and two of them have already been released as singles. The songs to look forward to on the album are “Falling” and “Juju” which is receiving fair airplay on Power FM.
On the album “Thy House”, Youngnash will engage a couple of regional artistes such as A.K.A, Dar-less and Oskido who he said were yet to confirm his request, but promised a fruitful project that would mark his breakthrough into the music showbiz.
In April last year, the Glen Norah-bred budding artiste released his second hip-hop mix-tape “The Paraphernalia” which was fairly received by the fans earning him a debut seat in the hip-hop awards nomination category of the best newcomer though he came second after Ill Cee who scooped the gong.
Rehab co-founder and producer Alexander “Xndr” Mutumha hailed Youngnash and urged all young artistes who are pursuing music as a career to work hard and bring out their best.
“I have worked with Youngnash for many years now and this boy is learning very fast, believe you me he will be the next Zim Lil’ Wayne or Dr Dre,” said Mutumha.
In the music scene, Youngnash is no stranger to hip-hop music fanatics who can’t get enough of the potential rap chants of the young man who arguably resembles American rapper Meek Mill.
Rap music and fashion works hand in glove and this has been the desire of the budding youth to start his fashion label that he said will reflect how creative Zimbabweans are, wishing to go international unlike what other talented musicians have been doing only localising their music.
He has done collaborations with renowned artistes like Roki, MC Chita, Tatae Da MC and several promising upcoming artistes.
Youngnash said the secret behind the shift to make music beats and focusing on house was purely a self-driven motive to showcase the versatility in him.
“Making beats is my life and I will make sure I do everything to fend myself through music.
“In Zimbabwe we don’t have a genre that we can say it’s originally ours that’s why we end up doing what we grew up listening to, and that is what inspired me to blend South African house music with a bit of hip-hop to make my own Zimba House which is unique to us ,” he said.
Youngnash, as he is fondly known in the music circle,s was born and bred in the high- density suburb of Glen Norah. He is a former Zdeco Advanced Level student where he studied Arts subjects. He hopes to go to college in August to study real estate management.
