adminGod or a good person does not eliminate challenges and warfare from your life. But what does God has to say about it? It is what He says that matters, comforts and strengthens us.
When people begin to talk your marriage down, meetings begin to be sat to destroy your organisation, your job and all you have laboured for, witch-doctors hired against you and all else rising against you — what does God have to say about it?
This is the question that has dominated the minds of many — what is God thinking or saying about all these negative situations? God’s the Alpha and Omega — the final voice on any case to do with your life and all humanity.
Isaiah 54 is an interesting chapter that is full of the promises of God, even to the “barren woman” who is told to sing and rejoice for there is hope and a miracle in God — even to the barren, jobless, despised and broken-hearted. Israel as a nation had many many adversaries and a lot of attacks being wielded against them when the prophetic word came.
What mattered was God’s word, for His Word is powerful and cancels all other words, declarations, plans and activities.
He says to His people: “ . . . in righteousness shall thou be established: thou shall be far from oppression, for thou shalt not fear and from terror, for it shall not come near thee.
“Behold they shall surely gather, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.
“Behold I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work and I have created the waster to destroy. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn . . .” Isaiah 54:14-17.
The first thing to be noted is that God confirms that “surely” enemies, negative things, challenges and intentions of the evil one shall gather against you. However, God makes it clear that all negativity and evil being wielded against you, does not come from him, but the devil.
God says: “They shall surely gather together, but not by me.” It is the devil that wants to tear your marriage apart, to take your children away from you and make them nothing, to wield sickness in your body and haunt your life with every evil possible including frightening dreams, feelings and messages.
For the thief — Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy — it’s his intention. God is not against you nor fighting you. It’s also not people who are fighting you, but the devil.
Apart from letting us know that he is not part of all evil wielded against us, God then gives a word of assurance. He declares that they will gather against you, but then overrules by declaring “whosoever shall gather against you shall fall for thy sake . . . no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper and every tongue that shall rise against thee, in judgment thou shalt condemn”.
Have you been having sleepless nights? Wondering how you will survive this festive season? Thinking of keeping a low profile so as not to attract witches against you and the attention of those people against you?
They shall plan and rise against you, but it will not prosper because of God’s answer and assurance.
“No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper!” But what does it mean? It means that whatever they have arranged against you, meditated on, spoken or vowed on — it will not work against you! Instead of getting you out of job, your promotion will knock at your door, instead of divorce papers your marriage will be kept firm in God for what he has joined, let not man put asunder.
God will miraculously provide for your needs.
To round it up, this promise, “No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper” is not just a promise. God says: “This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their righteousness is of me”. Some people get houses, cars, jackets or pots as heritage passed down to them by their loved ones, but to the children of God, He gives His heritage wrapped up in a promise! A promise of permanent security, safety and maximum protection in Him.
Child of God, you are safe in God. Fear not. If not yet born again, I challenge you friend, receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour.
All the safety, protection and security you need are in Him, for No weapon formed against you shall prosper, it is the heritage of all the children of God! (To receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, believe in your heart and pray out loud the prayer below)
