Your faith saves you

LUKE 7:48-50
And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. [49] And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also? [50] And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
Jesus forgave the sins of a woman who washed His feet. He told her that her faith had saved her.
She was not the only one who was in the house where Jesus was. But she was the only one whose sins were forgiven. She was the only one who washed His feet and entertained Him.
Jesus Himself said it when He told Simon that He had entered the room and no one had given Him attention, but since the woman came in, she had not stopped washing and kissing His feet. She did Him a service.
That act of service was an act of faith in Him. Her sins, that were many were forgiven her. Although Jesus had power to forgive the sins of everyone in the house, He forgave only one woman. Her faith caused it.
The woman who had an issue of blood for twelve years, touched the hem of His garment. Again, she was told her that her faith had made her whole. It was her faith in Jesus that triggered the gift of healing in Him.
Many were pressing against Him. Perhaps some were mocking and asking Him to perform a miracle for their pleasure and for fun. Many were touching him as the crowd pressed against Him. But there was a different touch. The touch was intentional.
She had said in her heart, if she would only touch the helm of His garment, she would be made whole. She had no verse in the Bible that told her if she touched Him, she would be well. Her faith told her that.
When she touched, her blood flow stopped immediately. Jesus felt it in His body that some healing power had flowed out of Him.
Her faith drew the healing power. Others had no effect on that power. Their motive of coming into conduct with Him was not of faith.
In Luke 18:37-43 a blind man called out to Jesus for help. He told Jesus he wanted his eyes to see. Jesus said unto him, “Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee”. Immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God. His faith saved him.
We can only get from God what we believe He is willing and able to do for us. Even our salvation is based on our faith. Ephesians 2:8-9 says:
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Yes, it is by grace that we are saved, But we have to believe in that grace. There are many today who are not saved and will not be saved. The fault is not with God. It is their fault in that they do not believe in Him.
God so loved the world and gave His Son that whosever would believe in His Son would be saved. If they are not saved, it is because they did not believe. Their unbelief damns them but those who believe, their faith saves them.
Romans 10:13-14 says:
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. [14] How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? You can only be saved by calling on His Name. You can only call on His Name when you believe. Faith saves you.
In Matthew 13:54-58 the people of His own country did not believe Him. They sized him up because they knew His birth that He was the Son of Mary and a carpenter. They knew His brothers and what they thought were His weaknesses. They wondered how He could claim to have supernatural powers. They limited Him. They lowly esteemed Him. Because of their unbelief, He did not do many mighty works.
Your attitude towards Him, either limits or triggers His power. When He is believed correctly, He saves. The word “save” was used by Jesus in a twofold manner. To save is to save physically and to save spiritually.
The Greek word for it is ‘sozo.” Sozo is to save both spiritually and physically. The woman who washed His feet was saved spiritually from her sins.
The woman of a blood issue was saved physically from her disease. It is all done by the finished works of Christ at Calvary.
If you are sick bodily, spiritually, financially, or have some disease or dis-ease, (by this I mean anything that makes you not to be at ease), but you believe in Jesus, He can save you.
