‘YOU’RE JUST A POOR AND PATHETIC LOT’

l Bopela explodes, takes aim at journalists

l Businessman riled by court case coverage

BUSINESSMAN Aggripa Bopela Masiyakurima exploded into a fit of rage, blasting the journalists who covered his court appearance last week as a “POOR” lot.

He claimed the journalists were allegedly paid US$200 each by his estranged wife Abigirl Marongwe, to tarnish his image.

Bopela appeared before a Harare magistrate charged with defaulting in the payment of over US$8 000 in maintenance for his three minor children. He was remanded to August 17 for trial commencement.

The businessman was irked with the coverage of his court appearance and claimed the journalists were allegedly being influenced by his estranged wife.

He took to Facebook to vent his anger.

“I am not sure which Bopela failed to pay school fees for his kids,” he said.

“If you go through those screenshots, you will clearly see the poor journalists are twerking for a bowl of soup and the $200 they each received from Abigail Marongwe.

“This Bopela here, has a Family Trust that used to be managed by ex-wife Abigail Marongwe.

“She would collect rental money from all fronts on behalf of Bopela-Masiyakurima Family Trust and from Agrippa Bopela Masiyakurima properties.

“I fired her from the trust for (allegedly) swindling and mismanaging Trust funds and starving her own kids despite receiving groceries from SA every now and then.

“How does a normal mother cook twice a week and freeze food in a deep freezer and then rely on a microwave? “Rubbish.”

He added:

“Which school would allow us to pay school fees for second term whilst we’re still owing money for 1st term?

“Attached school statements obtained yesterday clearly show schools are not owed anything.

“…tell those Mafikizolo Journalists that handipedzwe nenewspaper and those who are level-headed can see that this is trash.”

He attached receipts to ‘prove’ that he paid US$3190 to St John’s College on May 5, 2023.

Another receipt showed that on the same day he paid US$3 300 at St John’s Preparatory School for Boys.

Two days later, according to another receipt he attached, he paid US$2 400 at Chisipite Junior School.
