The Zanu PF Mashonaland East Youth League on Saturday pledged to support President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030, which aims at transforming the country into an upper middle income economy.
Speaking during a special Provincial Co-ordinating Committee meeting in Marondera, the province’s youth league chairman Cde Kelvin Mutsvairo said they were working hard to uphold the revolutionary legacy.
“Mashonaland East youth league pledges to continue supporting His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa through advancing your vision of attaining an upper middle class economy by 2030 and upholding the revolutionary legacy,” he said.
“As Mashonaland East, we are welded to you and nothing will separate us.”
Cde Mutsvairo expressed his gratitude to President for giving youths mining equipment.
“We have mounted it at Joyce Mine and in the next two weeks it will be operational,” he said. Cde Mutsvairo thanked the Government for prioritising the youths in the allocation of land, but appealed for the speeding up of the processing of the paperwork so that they could get the farms.
“Chikomba District lands committee availed 35 agricultural plots, and five of these were given to the youths,” he said. “Goromonzi availed 61 plots ,and 20 were allocated to youths and Murehwa gave us 30 farms.
“We would also want to appreciate the efforts by our Minister of State for Mashonaland East Provincial Affairs and Devolution Senator Aplonia Munzverengwi and our provincial chairman Cde Joel Biggie Matiza to make sure that the youths get farms.
“We want to be on the land as soon as possible since the rainy season is upon us and we need to start farming.”
Cde Mutsvairo said the youth league wanted a shop in the provincial capital for easy access to party regalia.
“Youths are now visible through the wearing of the party regalia,” he said. “We want a shop here so that our youths can easily access the regalia.
“We are also overwhelmed with the progress of road construction. The new dispensation has seen the construction of roads like Madicheche Road, which was now in a bad state.”
