The ZANU PF Youth League will on Friday launch an in-bus political interaction tour dubbed Politics Mubhazi, aimed at creating relaxed, non-formal spaces for citizens, particularly young people, to freely engage on national issues without pressure or intimidation.
The one-day tour will start from Harare to Murehwa and back, departing at 8am from the Causeway Office, and will be hosted by ZANU PF Youth League National Deputy Political Commissar Cde Taurai Kandishaya, with Youth League National Executive member Cde Munashe Tawanda Mtutsa as a guest.
Speaking to Zimpapers, Cde Kandishaya said the programme was designed to modernise political mobilisation by taking discussions to everyday social spaces where people naturally exchange views.
“As we modernise our skills and strategies in mobilising, we need to come up with a lot of initiatives which are fun so that people don’t come for politics specifically,” he said.
“We want non-formal environments where people can ask anything without feeling like they are obligated to think this way.”
He said buses, like bars and other social settings, already host spontaneous political debates, often driven by incomplete or inaccurate information.
“So you know in buses and bars there is something that is called a battle, where everyone will be throwing half-baked knowledge in terms of politics,” Cde Kandishaya said, adding that the tour seeks to turn such spaces into platforms for constructive and informed dialogue.
Cde Kandishaya said Politics Mubhazi will combine travel, interaction and civic education, allowing participants to engage leaders directly, ask questions freely and better understand national issues in a relaxed setting.
