THE Zanu PF Youth League has been implored to stay ideologically grounded, disciplined and focused on the broader national vision. This comes as empowerment projects recently unveiled for young people are set to undergo monitoring and evaluation.
Speaking at the party’s Youth League National Executive Council meeting in Harare yesterday, Zanu PF Youth League Secretary, Cde Tino Machakaire, urged the league to reflect on unity and discipline.
“As the vanguard of the party, we must remain ideologically grounded, disciplined, and focused on the broader national vision. We must not be swayed by short-term politics or excitement, but instead remain committed to programmes and initiatives that deliver sustainable empowerment, restore dignity, and create lasting development for our people,” said Cde Machakaire.
He hailed President Mnangagwa’s leadership, which continues to inspire young people across the country through his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, skills development, industrialisation and inclusive national development.
Cde Machakaire challenged the youths to make use of empowerment projects initiated by President Mnangagwa.
“We are equally encouraged by the empowerment packages that continue to be unlocked for young people, including the Youth Empowerment Fund and various economic enablement initiatives. As beneficiaries and custodians of these programmes, we must uphold the highest standards of accountability, integrity and professionalism,” he said.
These resources, he said, must be protected, properly managed and directed towards productive ventures that create employment opportunities and uplift communities.
“Our responsibility is to champion solutions that promote productivity, self-reliance, industrialisation, and economic transformation within our communities. True empowerment must inspire innovation, opportunity and long-term prosperity for present and future generations,” said Cde Machakaire.
He revealed that the Youth League leadership will soon dispatch monitoring and evaluation teams to assess progress, accountability and the overall impact of empowerment projects across the provinces.
Appreciating the commendable work undertaken by the Youth League in engaging communities and supporting national dialogue processes around the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill, Cde Machakaire highlighted that this level of political consciousness is what is expected from the vanguard of the party.
“We must, therefore, continue intensifying political education programmes and community engagements so that our constituents remain adequately informed on contemporary national issues,” he said.
ZANU PF, Cde Machakaire said, is a revolutionary mass party built on strong structures, discipline, and principles that must always be respected and protected.
Cde Machakaire further challenged the league to remain united and resolute in the fight against drug and substance abuse, which continues to threaten the well-being, potential, and future of many young people across the country. President Mnangagwa will preside over the league’s National Executive Council today.
