Harare’s Theatre in the Park is set to host a new get-together for youthful musicians onFriday.
The event is dubbed ‘Magitare in the Park’.

Award-winning jazz crooner Agga Nyabinde will share the stage with Taffie Matiure, Nokuteda “Nokue” Nyamadzawo, and Audinance Kuimba.

In an interview, Nyabinde urged creatives to unite.

“Nobody is going to come and do this for us. We are responsible for our growth,” he said.

“We need to appreciate each other. The line-up itself is a testament to what we intend to achieve as artists.”

Nokue echoed similar sentiments and urged more female artistes to work hard.

“I appreciate being given such an opportunity to represent women in the arts sector,” said Nokue.

“We hardly take the initiative to headline acts. There is a need to go out there and take centre stage. We are lurking in the shadows and there is a need to push hard.”

Event organisers said the event is designed to connect musicians, service providers and consumers.

Plans are underway to host an all-female cast as a way of promoting inclusivity and diversity.
