Youths urged to be disciplined, safeguard independence

the party’s youth confere-nce in Mbare on Saturday, Politburo member Cde Tendai Savanhu said the youths should shun violence and defend the country’s independence.
“Youths are the vanguard of the party. We want an organised party as we are right, right now.
“Defending the country is not easy. Some people died during the liberation struggle for us to gain independence,” he said.

He said it was the duty of the youths and everyone within the party to defend the sovereignty of the country.
“When elections come, some people will come and try to buy the votes so that it would be colonised again.

“Be aware of those people who are puppets of the British and its Western Allies.
“All we are saying is that the country will never be a colony again,” said Cde Savanhu.
He said sanctions were brought about so that that the people would turn against the Government.

Cde Savanhu said youths should emulate President Mugabe and remain focused towards the elections which are scheduled to be held anytime this year.
“Voting for Zanu-PF would be denying sanctions and to defend the country’s liberation struggle and independence,” he said.

He urged youths to remain united against the country’s enemies.
Zanu-PF Harare provincial chairman for the youths Cde Jimu Kunaka said the conference had shown them that most of the youths in Mbare were rallying behind Zanu-PF.
Cde Kunaka said most of the youths were lost and it was time that they should know where they were coming from and going.

He said youths wanted elections to be held this year and Zanu-PF was going to prevail.
“Gushungo (President Mugabe) we are fully behind you. We as born frees we will make sure that this Mbare (constituency) seat would be returned to Zanu-PF,” said Cde Kunaka.
Meanwhile, Cde Savanhu donated soccer kits to every Zanu-PF district in Mbare.
