The youths said out of the US$1 million allocated to them, only US$400 000 had been released countrywide.
The youths said this after delivering a petition at the Finance Ministry offices on the challenges they were facing.
But the youths failed to see Minister Biti, despite having an appointment with him.
The petition, which is supposed to be responded to within a week, was handed over to Minister Biti’s permanent secretary, Mr Willard Manungo.
Zimbabwe Youth Council board member, Mr Luckson Kandemiiri, said lack of financial support from Government was hampering their developmental projects.
“We met with the parliamentary portfolio committee on youth development last week and all youths associations resolved that any ministry that has to do with us has to pay attention to our concerns or face civil disobedience,” he said. “Most youths are suffering and the reason why we are here is he (Biti) is failing to give us what he allocated to us.”
Mr Kandemiiri said while Minister Biti claimed that Government coffers were dry, several ministers recently got expensive vehicles from Treasury.
“We want Biti to tell us where the money for the Range Rovers is coming from,” he said.
