ZABA to hold executive meeting next month

the general meeting to be held three weeks after the executive meeting.
Zaba secretary general, Goodwill Sibanda said they are going to look at several issues affecting the sport including the executive posts, calendar of events, appointment of members for different commissions within the national association.

“It’s an executive meeting for Zaba and the general meeting will be held 21 days after this meeting. We are looking at the International Amateur Boxing Association professional boxing. We are also going to look at the executive posts in Zaba that is dual positions for instance I am the secretary general but at the same time I will also be a chairperson for a province.

We need to get away from that and each person should have one post so that there is no bias.
“We are going to look at the international calendar and national calendar of events. We are also going to make appointments for the different commissions we have within the national association,” said Sibanda.

The Zaba secretary general said they are also going to make some amendments to their constitution in line with the recommendations made by AIBA.

“The most important issue will be our constitution. AIBA has given us a new constitution after we sent them our constitution and they added a few things that we need to amend because they have introduced the AIBA professional boxing and World Boxing Series and these are all new things brought in so we need to make some changes so that we are in line with the international standards.

“The issue is there are guys who are sharp and they will be inducted by AIBA as well as officials and we need to assess who is eligible,” said Sibanda.
