The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) is holding a consultative meeting in Gwanda, Matabeleland South Province, as part of the process of developing the Second National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS2), which will guide Zimbabwe’s anti-corruption efforts for the next five years.
Stakeholders who have gathered for the meeting include Government departments, Civic Society Organisations, parastatals, faith leaders and residents’ associations, among others.
Zacc acting executive secretary, Mrs Clara Nyakotyo said NACS2 is being developed through inclusive consultations across all 10 provinces through engaging Government, civil society, private sector, academia and the public.
The consultative meetings have been held in Bulawayo, Gweru, Mutare and Harare.
Ms Nyakotyo said the meetings will be held in Masvingo on 9 October, Chinhoyi on 13 October, Marondera on 15 October lastly Bindura on 17 October 2025.
“The consultations will identify corruption risks, review lessons from NACS1, align Zimbabwe’s strategy with United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), build national ownership. Stakeholder meetings, focus groups and interviews led by ZACC and a consultant will be conducted.
“Input will shape the draft NACS2 framework. Members of the public are encouraged to attend these stakeholder meetings,” she said.
