Zacc should weed out all corrupt elements at BCC

I AM writing to draw attention to a pressing issue that threatens the integrity of our local governance: the rampant corruption within the Bulawayo City Council.

It is with great urgency that I call upon the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) to take immediate action to investigate and address the corruption allegations that have surfaced among the councillors in our city.

Over the past few years, numerous reports and whistleblower accounts have highlighted questionable practices within the council, including misappropriation of funds, nepotism, and favouritism in the awarding of contracts.

These actions not only undermine public trust but also deprive our communities of the essential services that local councils are mandated to provide.

Residents have been left frustrated as crucial infrastructure projects remain uncompleted, basic services are inadequately delivered, and resources are squandered, all while those in power appear to act with impunity.

The citizens of Bulawayo deserve transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership from their elected representatives.

The current state of affairs suggests a systemic issue that requires swift intervention.
