Zaka boy (17) slips, crashes to death

rolled down a six-metre mountain slope.

Mike Zvarevashe of Kwangware Village under Chief Ndanga had gone on a hunting expedition in Rwengoma Mountain with his two sisters on Monday when tragedy struck.
He died on the spot from head and facial injuries.

Acting Masvingo police spokesman, Assistant Inspector Viola Masimba, said some of the injuries were caused by rock boulders that also fell down the slope following his fatal slip.
“He died on the spot after he was crushed by boulders that landed on him as he lay helpless down the slope,” she said.

Asst Insp Masimba said that on the fateful day, Zvarevashe left home in the company of his two sisters and some dogs.
At the summit of the mountain, they encountered a squirrel. Zvarevashe gave chase and attempted to catch it before slipping and falling to his death.
