Zambians vote for ‘son-in-law’

Assembly. Those who are doing the countdown will tell you that there are 78 days left before the world comes to Africa.

Secondly, outside the tourism world, Big Brother Africa fans in both countries have been cherishing the romance between Zambian beauty Cleo and “Zim hulk” as Hakeem is known in the house.

The affair has ignited a rare sense of belonging as Zambians are voting Hakeem who is up for eviction this week. A glimpse of the goings-on in and outside the house reveals that most Zambians viewers have thrown their weight behind Hakeem following his fling with Cleo.

Zambian fans have since started calling Hakeem their son-in-law while the Zimbabweans see Cleo as their daughter-in-law.

There were more votes coming Hakeem’s way after Cleo opened up to Big Brother during her Diary Session. She said she missed Hakeem and wished the two were united. But Cleo was not all alone even our Hakeem felt the same way. Those who have been following the previous seasons of the reality show will recall how the Zambians supported Munyaradzi Chidzonga and then Wendall Parson in what became known as the Sadc team.

Of course, Zambia was the first to win the Big Brother Africa prize money when Cherice Mukabale won US$100 000 prize money. This shows how good the Zambians are when it comes to reality shows. And since Zambia and Zimbabwe have joined forces in what came to be called ZimZam Team there are high hopes that Hakkem will survive eviction this week.

It appears Team Zimbabwe is divided between the two housemates, Pokello and Hakeem. That is futile as what happened to Big Brother Star Game housemate Maneta Mazanhi. While she was popular in other African countries at least most fans did not vote for her preferring Roki instead..
Rather, it would be good to see both Zimbabwean housemates in the finals than just one housemate.

This will increase our chances of winning in the game. At this point, both Pokello and Hakeem stand a good chance of landing the prize money but for as long as Team Zimbabwe is divided chances are that we will miss out on the prize money.

I am for Team Zimbabwe.
