New SADC Chairperson, President Mnangagwa is expected to project Zimbabwe as a technology and innovation country in the eyes of the global village, Zanu PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa, has said.

Addressing the media at the party headquarters in Harare yesterday, Cde Mutsvangwa said SADC is an important regional organisation, key to Zimbabwe.

“We are here to congratulate President Mnangagwa for a very successful hosting of the SADC Summit,” he said.

“The summit was well organised, attended by all Heads of State and Government in the region in one form or the other, and the friendship, the bonds between the various countries of SADC were quite evident in the proceedings.”

Cde Mutsvangwa congratulated President Mnangagwa, who is the Zanu PF First Secretary, hoisting high the revolutionary party’s flag through  organising the successful summit.

“You are in a class of your own as President of Zimbabwe, as a Statesman of the region and as a representative of Pan-Africanism and as somebody who is showing that Africa can become part of the global community through a concerted effort at industrialisation, which is a measure of modernisation,” he said.

Immediate-past SADC Chairperson and Angola President João Lourenço, was also praised by Cde Mutsvangwa for his efforts in leading the bloc in the past year.
