“Zanu PF DCCs should work closely with their MPs:” Zanu PF Mat South Chair Cde Ndlovu

Zanu PF Matabeleland South Provincial Chairman Cde Nqobizitha Ndlovu has urged the party’s District Coordinating Committees (DCCs) to work hand in glove with the ruling party’s Members of Parliament, both elected and shadow, in order to foster meaningful development in their areas.

The province has seven districts: Bulilima, Umzingwane, Gwanda, Beitbridge, Insiza, Matobo, and Mangwe.

Cde Ndlovu, over the past months, visited the rainbow province’s 12 constituencies: Bulilima, Beitbridge East, Beitbridge West, Gwanda South, Gwanda North, Gwanda-Tshitaudze, Esigodini, Insiza North, Insiza South, Mangwe, Matobo-Mangwe, and Matobo.

Speaking after successfully completing engagement meetings in all 12 constituencies, Cde Ndlovu said it is high time that DCC members work closely with the party’s legislators to ensure electoral success.

“District executives should be made up of members coming from or seconded by branches. There they will know that they are leaders who have been seconded. They are not leaders landing from the top into the district. That is how the party has to be structured, so this is a key takeaway, but more importantly, we have advised the DCCs to work closely with the Members of Parliament.

“Members of Parliament’s programmes should be shared with the DCC so that there is an effective monitoring system and also a good partnership. When the MP is out there flanked by his DCC leadership and district executive, people would see that it is the party in action delivering,” said Cde Ndlovu.

He said such a presence of party leadership is admired by the electorate.

“They will clearly see differences where we are as the party and where it’s the opposition. Already Plumtree residents are saying they can see the difference where Zanu PF was in charge and the situation now, because they had never met their leaders. We want to have success stories.

“We can’t have a situation where there is no difference between where we are and where we are not. It’s the same. People should be able to feel the difference, otherwise there is no point in having opposition,” said Cde Ndlovu.
