Members of the Zanu-PF Bulawayo Greens District have expressed confidence in the growth of the party in the city, citing an increase in membership and improved mobilisation structures.

The optimism emerged during the just-ended Zanu-PF Cell Day, which coincided with a cell verification exercise aimed at assessing party structures at grassroots level and updating membership records.

Greens District chairperson, Cde Tendai Charuka, said the exercise had yielded positive results, with a notable number of new members joining the party.

“We are satisfied with how the mobilisation process has gone,” said Cde Charuka. “The Cell Day and verification exercise have shown us that the party is growing. We recorded a significant number of new members, which gives us confidence that our message is reaching the people.”

He said the verification exercise was important in strengthening party structures and ensuring that cells were functional and well-coordinated.

Another district member, Cde Thabo Mhlonitshwa Ndlovu, said members were encouraged by the direction the party was taking in Bulawayo and pledged to intensify mobilisation efforts.

“We are excited by the trajectory the party is taking,” said Cde Ndlovu. “As members, we are committed to continuing to campaign for Zanu-PF and to bring in more people so that the party continues to grow.”

He said Cell Day had provided an opportunity for members to interact with communities, explain party programmes and reinforce unity at grassroots level.

Zanu-PF holds Cell Day regularly as part of its organisational activities, with cell verification exercises designed to strengthen structures ahead of future programmes and electoral processes.
