IN a strategic move to bolster its organisational framework, the Zanu PF Harare provincial leadership has embarked on an exercise to reinforce and digitise its cell structures.
The party convened a meeting with grassroots cadres in Southlea Park, Harare, yesterday centred on educating members on the formation of verifiable party cells to enhance membership accountability and mobilisation efficiency.
Addressing the attendees, Zanu PF Harare province vice chairperson, Cde Ephraim Fundukwa, underscored the initiative as a key preparatory strategy.

“This is a mobilisation strategy as we start work in 2026, aiming to solidify our structures in the new year. The meeting is focusing on putting proper structures in the party.”
He revealed that following the recent successful completion of a cell restructuring programme, the province is now transitioning to a critical phase of data capture and digitisation of membership records.
“We successfully completed our cell restructuring programme and we are now moving on to data capturing and digitisation of records. Our party structures are effective, and we have maintained a strong presence in the party’s administrative zones. In Harare, we have six zones,” Cde Fundukwa said.

Expressing confidence in the party’s foundation, he highlighted that Zanu PF is poised for continued growth in the capital, boasting fully functional structures.
The established cell networks will subsequently form the basis for constructing robust branch-level committees.
Cde Fundukwa also pointed to a notable political shift within the province, confirming a significant return of former opposition members to the ruling party in the past year.
Since the year 2000, the capital has been an opposition stronghold, but the ruling party has in recent years snatched several parliamentary and local authority seats.
“These former opposition members have realised the good works being championed by our leadership. The Zanu PF-led Government is actively implementing the development that they desire. They are witnessing a great change in all sectors of the economy,” Cde Fundukwa said.
