The 22nd Annual National People’s Conference presents the party with an opportunity to focus and refine the “revolution” of modernisation and industrialisation of the country, President Mnangagwa has said.

Addressing thousands of Zanu PF delegates at the 22nd Annual National People’s Conference in Mutare on Friday, President Mnangagwa said one of the main agendas of the conference is to advance the implementation of people-centred development.

“The conference avails the chance to refine and refocus our ongoing revolution to develop, modernise, and industrialise Zimbabwe, for the shared prosperity of all communities in our great country,” he said.

“In keeping with the long-standing traditions and internal democratic culture of our party, I invite the conference to engage in factual, frank, and constructive discussions. As we debate, let us respect each other’s divergent views.

“The upcoming implementation of National Development Strategy 2 and the harmonised general elections are of utmost importance.

“The party’s machinery should never rest, but remain well-oiled to serve the people and advance the development of our motherland.”

President Mnangagwa commended the party for showing leadership in communities and said the party is an engine for national development.

He also applauded farmers across the country for the bumper harvest received last season and said distribution for the current season is underway.

The President called on delegates to shun corruption and maintain the spirit of hard, honest work.
