Zanu-PF provinces ready for conference

Masvingo provincial chairperson Cde Lovemore Matuke said his leadership was already mobilising resources to contribute towards the holding of a successful conference.
Matabeleland South chairperson Cde Andrew Langa said the province had already raised some resources for the conference.
Harare provincial spokesperson Cde Claudius Mutero said the party was in the process of raising the required contributions.
Mashonaland West chairperson Cde John Mafa said they were waiting for people who pledged to fulfil their promises.
He said they would be able to reconcile their figures by the end of the week.
Bulawayo acting chairperson Cde Killian Sibanda said they formed a committee that was mobilising funds for the conference.
He said delegates from the province who would attend the conference were already in place.
Mashonaland Central chairperson Cde Dickson Mafios said his provincial leadership was in the process of raising funds to contribute towards the conference.
“By end of day tomorrow (today), I am sure we would have raised a substantial amount,” he said.
“Our people are busy running around to make sure that we raise that money.”
Mashonaland East party spokesperson Cde Gordon Mujawe said the provincial leadership had started mobilising resources for the conference.
“I am sure we will be able to meet our target. We are well on course in raising resources,” he said.
“We have also finished selecting our delegates who will attend the conference.”
Manicaland provincial secretary for administration Cde Kenneth Saruchera said the leadership had started fundraising towards the conference.
“We have set targets for each district and we are hoping that we will raise a substantial amount,” he said. “We have also finalised on the list of delegates who will go to the conference.”
Matabeleland North acting chairperson Cde Thokozile Mathuthu said the Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting tomorrow would give guidance on how the province was going to raise the money for the conference.
“I am sure by the time we go to the conference; we would have raised the money,” she said.
This year’s Annual National People’s Conference will be held under the theme “Indigenise, Empower, Develop and Create Employment”.
The theme was agreed on at the 261st Ordinary Session of the Politburo held at the party’s headquarters last week.
About 5 000 delegates are expected to attend the conference.
