Moyo made the remarks in the wake of Tuesday’s assault of Zanu-PF youth chairman for Masunda Branch in Waterfalls, Harare, Cde Cosmas Mutukwa, by four MDC-T youths for wearing his party T-shirt.
The assault on Cde Masunda come a few weeks after Zanu-PF district official in Chitungwiza, Cde Fungai Mazhindu, was severely assaulted and left for dead by more than 15 MDC-T supporters who sprinkled an unknown substance in his eyes in Unit D, Chitungwiza for putting on his party regalia.
Addressing party structures in the Midlands Province yesterday, Cde Khaya Moyo who leads the party’s probe team, condemned MDC-T violence that has seen the party turning even against its own officials.
Cde Khaya Moyo said Zanu PF is a peaceful party that does not dabble in intra-party violence like what has happened to the MDC-T during its primary elections.
“We are a peaceful party. Our leader President Robert Mugabe has reiterated that the country should maintain peace ahead of forthcoming harmonised elections. However, it seems the MDC-T is taking us for granted. We heard disturbing news that some people suspected MDC-T party supporters assaulted our party officials for wearing our party regalia. They should not push us too far or else we will be forced to defend ourselves,” he said. Cde Khaya-Moyo said the MDC-T’s intra party violence and frustrations should not spill over to Zanu-PF.

“We hear that their primary elections are in shambles. MDC-T must not extend their violence and frustrations of their primary elections to Zanu-PF. We are not interested. MDC-T must stop violence now,” he said.
Cde Khaya Moyo said MDC-T was a distracted party that listens to its masters and acts wayward. He also declared the forthcoming harmonised elections a do-or-die encounter in which the revolutionary party should robustly participate so as to ensure a resounding victory.
“We are conducting these consultative meetings so that we strengthen the party ahead of the forthcoming harmonised elections. This is a do-or-die election and we must not make any mistakes or enter into it blindfolded. “We learnt from the 2008 elections in which we didn’t know the state of the party and it cost us. We should be prepared for the elections so that we bury the inclusive Government,” he said.
Cde Khaya Moyo also dismissed allegations of factionalism within Zanu-PF and said the so-called divisions in the party had remained a mirage stimulated by private media.
“Factionalism in Zanu-PF is a mirage that is being stimulated by the so-called independent media. We have never seen members of the alleged factions meeting or leading. There is nothing of that sort in Zanu-PF,” he said.
Cde Khaya-Moyo reiterated that Zanu-PF was a strong party and could not be dissolved so easily.
Other members of the committee who attended yesterday’s meeting are secretary for administration Cde Didymus Mutasa, national commissar Cde Webster Shamu, Zanu-PF national spokesperson Cde Rugare Gumbo, national secretary for legal affairs Cde Emerson Mnangagwa, dean of Governors, Dr Cephas Msipa, Midlands Governor Jason Machaya and secretary for security Cde Sydney Sekeramayi.
