ZANU PF is targeting to raise US$6 million from the business community through a Presidential Fundraising Dinner to support preparations for its 23rd Annual People’s Conference in Chinhoyi next month.
The conference is scheduled for October 12 to 17, 2026 at the Chinhoyi University of Technology.
The date for the Presidential Fundraising Dinner is expected to be announced in due course.
Zanu PF Fundraising Committee chairman for resource mobilisation, Cde Phillip Chiyangwa, confirmed the US$6 million fundraising target.
“We are happy to announce that there is a lot of interest from various business entities to be part of the Presidential Fundraising dinner which will be held at a date to be announced,” he said.
“I am here to provide constant updates as our conference approaches. Between conference, we will be hosting a legacy dinner in honour of our very best President, Dr Mnangagwa.
“We also met with the business community to discuss the allocation of tables and how the process will be handled.”
Cde Chiyangwa highlighted that there is a lot of enthusiasm with in the business community to have an interactive dinner with the President.
“I am looking at businesses across the board—no matter how big. We want to offer an opportunity to everyone to come to the table and meet with the President, to talk about what they wish for,” he said.
“The success of what has happened so far is a result of the contributions people have made over time. Our President has taken those contributions and turned them into the success story we are seeing—and reading about—every day.”
Cde Chiyangwa said the meeting primarily recognises that while fundraising is important, the party also sets targets that reflect the support and expectations of the business community. These targets, he said, are driven by those who support the party.
“We met as a fundraising committee to discuss various issues related to fundraising and other aspects involving the party and its organs,” he said.
“We want them to come forward and celebrate together with the President. In your province, please take note that in the coming years our offices expect you not to be left out.
“We will know the targets and the value expected, and as we prepare the short list, we will make a commitment to attend and contribute towards the conference. We have now decided that there will be a final fundraising meeting for the President with all the other business actors we have probably known.
“We want to celebrate the peace and tranquillity we have in the country as a result of this meeting. He is also holding a very critical conference this year, which aims to promote and advance self-manifestation and self-actualisation.”
Cde Chiyangwa invited all successful business people to attend the Presidential Fundraising Dinner when the dates are finally announced.
He said the dinner will provide an opportunity to interact with the President and thank him for his contribution towards the growth of their businesses.
Speaking at the same Press conference, Zanu-PF Secretary for Information and Publicity Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa said preparations for the 23rd Annual People’s Conference are progressing well.
“The conference will review implementation of Government programmes linked to party policies and assess progress towards Vision 2030,” he said.
This year’s conference will be held under the theme: “From Resolutions to Results: Consolidating Economic Development and Deepening Empowerment Towards Vision 2030.”
Ambassador Mutsvangwa noted that the event promises to be a landmark gathering for party members, offering a platform to review the party’s achievements and challenges since the last conference.
“Attendees will have the unique opportunity to witness the implementation of President Mnangagwa’s ambitious Vision 2030 and beyond, aimed at transforming Zimbabwe into a middle-income economy by the year 2030,” he said.
During the conference, Ambassador Mutsvangwa said participants can expect in-depth discussions on strategies to accelerate economic development, promote investment, and foster a sense of empowerment among citizens.
He highlighted that party leaders will outline concrete steps being taken to translate resolutions into tangible actions that will uplift communities and enhance the well-being of all Zimbabweans.
“The conference will also feature a range of presentations, workshops, and panel discussions focusing on various sectors, including agriculture, industry, education, and health,” Ambassador Mutsvangwa said.
“The goal of these sessions is to engage stakeholders and encourage collaboration toward achieving national development goals.”
The conference, he added, will provide an opportunity for the party to reinforce its commitment to social justice and equality, thereby addressing some of the pressing socio-economic challenges faced by the country.
Party members and the broader community are invited to come together, share ideas, and contribute to a brighter future for Zimbabwe.
At least 7 000 delegates are expected to attend the conference.
