ZANU-PF is on an unstoppable crusade to fulfill its promises to the electorate and bring total economic emancipation, the party’s national chairman, Cde Simon Khaya Moyo, said. In a statement on Monday after a National Elections Directorate (NED) meeting in Harare, Cde Khaya Moyo said Zanu-PF victory in last week’s harmonised elections marked a new path towards meaningful development in the country.
“We meet today in very exciting and celebratory circumstances. This is the moment of truth. Reality has taken centre stage and illusions from the opposition are fast evaporating.
“We are back to 1980 and Zanu-PF as the liberator and revolutionary party is on an unstoppable crusade, the march to total economic emancipation of our people,” said Cde Khaya Moyo who has been elected into the Senate in Matabeleland South.
“You have made it. The people of Zimbabwe have spoken, loud and clear. In Latin they say ‘Vox Populi, Vox Dei’-The voice of the people is the voice of God.”
Cde Khaya Moyo commended Zimbabweans for endorsing President Mugabe’s leadership through the ballot.
He said Zanu-PF has demonstrated its invincibility by delivering the stunning victory, which has shamed the country’s detractors.
Cde Khaya Moyo paid tribute to the NED, members of the provincial elections directorates and party structures countrywide for working hard to ensure the party won.
“We obviously await the inauguration of our President, Cde Mugabe, a man of destiny. Thereafter real work begins,” he said.
Cde Khaya Moyo leads the four-member NED whose other members are National Secretary for Administration Cde Didymus Mutasa, National Commissar Cde
Webster Shamu and National Secretary for Security Cde Sydney Sekeramayi.
