Zanu-PF to give farmers tractors

Manicaland with tractors to address tillage challenges.
Speaking at Cottco organised field day in Ru-sape yesterday, Cde Khaya Moyo said it was disturbing that most far-mers in the area were failing to produce to their capacity due to unavailability of tillage equipment.

“We are going to look into the issue of providing you with tractors so that you can maximise on production. We are complementing President Muga-be’s efforts of ensuring food security,” he said.
Last season farmers in different parts of the country received seed and fertilisers under the Presidential Well-Wishers Input Support Programme.

This helped many families produce enough food.
Farmers in Rusape said they were willing to diversify into cattle rearing, but did not have enough resources.

Cde Khaya Moyo said the farmers would be provided with vaccines for their animals.
Cottco area supervisor, Mr Innocent Manhando, said his company provided farmers with extension services.

Mr Manhando said Cottco expected 30 000 tonnes of cotton for them to open a transit depot in the area and this would enable them to create employment.
Cottco Manicaland business manager, Mr Ma-shoko Mabweazara, challenged farmers to grow more cotton.
