ZANU-PF Bulawayo province is set to hold a fundraising dinner on Saturday ahead of the party’s 16th annual national conference to be held next month in Masvingo.

Bulawayo provincial chairman Cde Dennis Ndlovu said Vice-President Phelekezela Mphoko would be the guest of honour during the fundraising dinner at Bulawayo Rainbow Hotel.

“We have stepped up efforts to raise funds for the national people’s conference in Masvingo and we are going to hold our fundraising dinner on December 3. As a province we have an obligation to raise our target and there is a committee tasked with mobilising resources from well-wishers,” said Cde Ndlovu.

He said the party has identified institutions to approach ahead of Saturday’s fundraising dinner.

The fundraising committee is being chaired by local businessman Mr Sinoti Nsingo.

The ruling party has set a target of $50 000 for each province to fund its conference that will be held from December 13 to 17 at the Masvingo Showgrounds.

Cde Ndlovu said Zanu-PF Bulawayo Province also made several resolutions on issues related to the national conference during their provincial coordinating committee (PCC) meeting held at Davies Hall yesterday.

“We have a conference in Masvingo next month so as Bulawayo Province we met and came up with a number of resolutions, some of which are issues related to the national conference such as logistics as well as the economic situation in the city,” he said.

Among senior party members who attended yesterday’s PCC meeting were Zanu-PF Deputy Secretary for Women’s Affairs, Cde Nomthandazo Moyo, Politburo member, Cde Joshua Malinga and Central Committee member Cde Absolom Sikhosana.
