ZANU PF is set to undertake a major restructuring of its Diaspora districts this year, with internal elections to be held as the ruling party moves to consolidate its global membership base.
The impending reorganisation has generated considerable interest among Zimbabweans living abroad, many of whom are eager to assume leadership roles within the party’s international branches.
In a virtual address to a gathering of Zanu PF members living in China, the party’s National Political Commissar, Cde Munyaradzi Machacha, confirmed the plans, emphasising the need for robust and effective structures overseas.
“As we prepare for the pending restructuring of the diaspora districts’ executives in 2026, leadership across all regions must be strengthened to ensure efficiency, responsiveness, and alignment with the party’s national objectives,” said Cde Machacha.
He revealed that the party’s Commissariat Department would soon issue a formal guide laying out the electoral procedures.
“In this regard, the Commissariat Department will soon issue a circular outlining the process that will lead to the restructuring of the district executives in the diaspora.”
Cde Machacha also called diaspora districts to foster strong working ties with Zimbabwean embassies.
“In addition, diaspora districts must work closely and cordially with their respective embassies, fostering strong relationships that enhance communication, coordination, and support for Zimbabweans abroad.”
He rallied members to be steadfast ambassadors of the party and the national development agenda.
