CDE Freedom Murechu, the Zanu-PF Bulawayo Provincial Youth Chairperson, has been confirmed as the party’s candidate for the upcoming Nkulumane Constituency by-election scheduled for 20 December.

This follows a proclamation by President Mnangagwa, setting the date for the by-election.

The poll was necessitated by the tragic death of the constituency’s legislator, Desire Moyo, in a road accident on October 10 this year.

Zanu-PF Bulawayo Provincial Secretary for Information, Cde Archie Chiponda, confirmed Cde Murechu’s candidature.
“Cde Freedom Murechu will be the Zanu-PF Candidate for Nkulumane Constituency By-Election set for 20 December
“He emerged uncontested. After a call for expression of interest from Zanu PF Byo Province, his was the only submission,” said Cde Chiponda.

According to the proclamation issued last Thursday, the Nomination Court will convene on November 20 at the Magistrates’ Court Number 5 in the Tredgold Building, Bulawayo, to receive candidate nominations.

Cde Murechu, who has been serving as the Zanu PF shadow MP for the constituency, is now set to officially contest the seat for the ruling party.
