ZANU PF’s United States of America (USA) District leadership has thrown its weight behind Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 of 2026 (CAB3), saying it will strengthen national unity, consolidate political stability and safeguard the country’s development gains under the Second Republic.
In a statement, the district executive and general membership said the amendment was a critical instrument for sustaining Zimbabwe’s economic growth momentum and advancing the country’s Vision 2030 agenda.
“We, the ZANU PF United States of America (USA) District Executive and general membership, hereby pronounce our unequivocal support for Constitutional Amendment Bill Number 3 #CAB3 of 2026,” read the statement.
The district leadership said repeated electoral disputes over the past two decades had often disrupted development and created unnecessary political uncertainty.
“Recurrent and often frivolous and vexatious electoral disputes over the past quarter century have demonstrated to the nation the unnecessary political landmines in the current electoral system, which have tended to hinder development,” read the statement.
It said the proposed constitutional amendment would strengthen the country’s governance framework and ensure policy continuity.
“The bold and progressive #CAB3 will serve as a centre-pivot for the strengthening of the national governance framework, cementing national unity and accelerating sustained economic growth in Zimbabwe,” read the statement.
The party’s diaspora wing said the Bill would help foster strong political institutions, deepen parliamentary democracy and sharpen focus on development.
“#CAB3 therefore represents such an appropriate reflexive adaptation to new and more efficient governance systems which will maximise our focus on development and progress, cultivate strong political parties and strengthen parliamentary democracy from national to grassroots levels,” reads the statement.
The ZANU PF USA leadership also hailed the developmental strides made under President Mnangagwa’s administration through the National Development Strategy 1 and the recently launched National Development Strategy 2.
“Under the capable leadership of the President, His Excellency Cde Dr E.D. Mnangagwa, phenomenal national development has been unleashed through the Second Republic’s flagship National Development Strategies, NDS1 and NDS2,” read the statement.
It cited infrastructure development projects undertaken across the country, including roads, airports, border posts, dams, water pipelines and digital infrastructure, as evidence of the country’s transformation.
“Zimbabwe has seen massive upgrading and construction of roads, airports, border ports, dams, water pipelines, as well as public institutional, social and digital infrastructure,” read the statement.
The district leadership said major investments in mining, agriculture, housing, energy, industry and services had improved livelihoods in both urban and rural communities.
It said continuity in governance and policy implementation was key to sustaining the country’s economic growth trajectory.
“The engine of continuity is #CAB3,” the statement said.
Reaffirming its support, the ZANU PF USA District Leadership said members in the diaspora remained committed to supporting the nation’s developmental agenda and the attainment of Vision 2030, which seeks to transform Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy.
“As ZANU PF USA, and on behalf of all patriotic cadres straddling the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, we stand firmly in support of #CAB3 and commit to continue playing a central role in the march towards the inevitable attainment of Vision 2030.”
