ZANU PF has successfully on-boarded 2 392 907 verified members into its new digital registration system following an initial data clean-up, while 1 600 445 records remain rejected due to technical and data-capture issues.

The update is detailed in the Central Committee Report on the Membership Data Digitisation and Clean-Up Programme, presented at the 23rd ZANU PF National People’s Conference, which was established to create an accurate, central database.

A provincial breakdown of the 2 392 907 verified records shows Harare leading with 384 150 members, followed by Mashonaland East with 308 226, Mashonaland West with 307 690, Midlands with 302 209, and Masvingo with 295,869.

Mashonaland Central registered 267 505 members, Manicaland recorded 248 772, Matabeleland South posted 105 828, Matabeleland North logged 93 204, and Bulawayo recorded 44 511.

Simultaneously, system errors led to the rejection of 1,6 million entries across all 10 provinces.

Midlands recorded the highest number of rejected files at 326 915, followed by Mashonaland West (256 599), Manicaland (254 486), Masvingo (232 813), Mashonaland East (200 431), Mashonaland Central (189 375), Harare (54 288), Matabeleland South (52 764), Matabeleland North (43 695) and Bulawayo (24 022).

To rectify the rejected records and finalise the database, the party’s Department of Membership is conducting a national clean-up exercise across all provinces.

However, implementation has faced logistical constraints, with the party securing only 1 932 mobile tablets out of a required 3 900.

Due to the equipment deficit, the exercise is being rolled out in phases on an administrative district basis to ensure the available hardware services each province sequentially.

In its report, the party emphasised that centralising verifiable membership data is a strategic priority to map its organisational footprint down to the district, branch, and cell or village levels.
