The ZANU PF Women’s League has warned the younger generation seeking to create divisions and undermine the party leadership, stressing that such behaviour has no place within the party.
At the National Executive meeting held in Harare, Secretary for Women Affairs Cde Mable Chinomona raised concern over rising cases and reports of indiscipline among party members
Cde Chinomona said there was need for high levels of discipline, urging members to refrain from insulting the party leadership, particularly President Mnangagwa and his deputies Vice Presidents Dr Constantino Chiwenga and Cde Kembo Mohadi.
Her remarks follow incidents where certain party members, including those expelled during the G40 era, have been abusing social media and public gatherings to disparage the Presidium.
“We cherish the peace that has prevailed in this country, but this indiscipline must come to an end. Young people should not be at the forefront of despising party leadership.
“Discipline was fundamental during our liberation struggle, and it must remain a core value within our structures,” she said.
Cde Chinomona added that the Women’s League had to defend the revolution against “rogue elements” that threatened party unity.
She urged members to focus their energies on achieving the goals outlined in Vision 2030, underlining the importance of respecting party leadership and their positions.
She acknowledged the achievements made under President Mnangagwa’s leadership, calling for support in advancing these milestones.
“We wonder why President Mnangagwa is under attack when he has overachieved in all sectors of the economy. We must cherish this development,” she said.
As part of the empowerment drive, Cde Chinomona unveiled 10 solar power incubators intended to transform the lives of communities across the country. Each incubator can accommodate 36 000 eggs, contributing to local agricultural initiatives.
“The incubators must be put to good use for the benefit of the people. It’s now up to the provinces to deliver for the people”.
She also discussed ongoing projects, including detergent production, sewing machines, and poultry initiatives, emphasising the need to evaluate their impact.
Cde Chinomona and her team plan to visit various women’s projects across the country to assess progress and ensure that the commitments made to the electorate are fulfilled.
