Zanu-PF Women’s League gets 3k chicks

Zanu-PF Women’s League on Monday received 3 000 day-old chicks that are expected to improve the livelihoods of women in Mashonaland West.

The donation is part of a nationwide programme that is being supported by chicken producer, Irvine’s, which is also offering training for beneficiaries.

Addressing members who gathered at the party’s provincial offices on Monday, Zanu-PF national secretary for environment and tourism Cde Prisca Mupfumira said the chicken project was meant to bring empowerment and boost the country’s economy.

“This is meant to bring development in our province and as women, we should take this opportunity to contribute to our economy,” she said.

“We should be independent women who can stand on their own, economically. Our President, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa, is preaching the gospel of economic turnaround, so as women, we have to do our best in supporting him.” Cde Mupfumira implored party members to be tolerant.

“Let us all follow the constitution and be straight forward people,” she said.
