The ZANU-PF Youth League is set to roll out a pioneering “In-Bus Political Interaction Tour” this Friday, offering young Zimbabweans a unique platform for political dialogue as they travel from Harare to Murehwa constituency.

The initiative, dubbed “Politics Mubhazi”, is scheduled to depart at 8:00am from the Causeway Office, with participants returning to Harare later the same day.

The tour will be hosted by Cde Taurai Kandishaya, Deputy Political Commissar of the ZANU-PF Youth League, alongside guest Cde Munashe Mtutsa. The journey, conducted at a leisurely pace, will transform the bus into a travelling forum for robust discussion on national issues, party policies, and youth concerns. Refreshments will be served throughout the day.

Speaking ahead of the event, Cde Kandishaya said, “We are revolutionising political engagement by taking our discussions directly to where young people are most comfortable – in informal settings where they can speak freely. This in-bus political interaction represents a modern approach to mobilising our youth and addressing the half-baked political knowledge that often circulates in these informal spaces.”

Cde Kandishaya, a key figure in ZANU-PF youth mobilisation, stressed the importance of creating a relaxed atmosphere for candid dialogue. “We want to establish a free environment where rules don’t apply in the conventional sense, where young people can ask even the most sensitive questions about government and party policies,” he said.

Organisers note that many young Zimbabweans frequently engage in political discussions during long bus journeys, but seldom have access to accurate information or direct interaction with party officials. The tour seeks to bridge this gap.

“Young people often express bitterness and toxicity in buses because they don’t have proper channels to understand our policies,” added Cde Kandishaya. “We’re creating a platform where they can get clarity directly from party leadership while enjoying a free road trip experience.”

The initiative is designed not only to educate but also to offer a recreational experience, particularly for youths who may not have travelled on the highway before. ZANU-PF membership registration will also be conducted during the tour.

“This is about making politics accessible and fun. We want young people to be attracted to our party not only on political grounds but because we offer them meaningful experiences and genuine engagement opportunities,” said Cde Kandishaya.

Should the tour prove successful, the Deputy Political Commissar indicated that similar initiatives may be introduced in other constituencies. “We’re committed to meeting young people where they are, in environments where they feel comfortable expressing themselves,” he said.

Although the tour is organised by ZANU-PF, Cde Kandishaya assured that the in-bus discussions will be inclusive of diverse views. “In this free environment, we encourage open dialogue that can contribute to a better Zimbabwe,” he remarked. “Political engagement shouldn’t be limited to echo chambers – we want robust discussions that help our youth understand the complexities of governance.”

Seats for the Politics Mubhazi tour can be reserved by contacting +263 77 640 7267. Organisers have ensured that professional transport and refreshments will be provided for all participants.

The tour forms part of ZANU-PF Youth League’s broader strategy to modernise political engagement and appeal to younger demographics through innovative, interactive programmes.
