Zanu-PF youth leader found dead

He was 29.
Cde Ngwenya was found dead at his home in Nkulumane 12 yesterday morning.
Bulawayo Zanu-PF provincial youth chairman Cde Butholezwe Gatsi confirmed the death of Cde Ngwenya.

“He was found dead in his house in Nkulumane by a mechanic whose name is not yet known who was set to fix his car,” said Cde Gatsi.
“We do not know the time and cause of his death but we were told that he was found dead in the morning. He lived alone   as his family resides at his father’s estate in Bubi.”
As the sad news filtered through, condolence messages started pouring in.

Zanu-PF national secretary for youth affairs Cde Absalom Sikhosana described the death of Cde Ngwenya as a great loss to the nation.
“It is with a heavy heart that we received the untimely death of Cde Lungisani Ngwenya. Lungisani was one of those young cadres of the party whose leadership was a shining example among those he led and interacted with,” said Cde Sikhosana.

“The Lungisani family should draw strength in that they are not alone during this difficult patch in their lives but that the Zanu-PF National Youth League, the party and its entire leadership share their grief and pray that the Almighty grants them strength to accept that Lungisani’s time had come for greater assignments by the Creator.”

Bulawayo Zanu-PF secretary for transport and welfare Cde Joe Tshuma described Ngwenya as a hard worker and dedicated member of the party.
“He was a dynamic young man, hardworking and well mannered, one of the young leaders who was less than 30 years old,” said Cde Tshuma.

Cde Ngwenya was born on 12 August 1982.
He joined Zanu-PF in 1999 after completing his Advanced level at Mzilikazi High School.

In 2003 he was elected as secretary for the commissariat of the youth league in George Silundika District.
Between 2005 and 2008 Cde Ngwenya held different positions in the party while in 2009 he was elected the provincial youth vice-chairperson, a post he held until his death.

Mourners are gathered at House Number 12333 Nkulumane 12.
Cde Ngwenya will be buried  tomorrow at the family farm in Bubi.
