All is set for the Zanu-PF Youth League conference that will start today with the arrival of delegates from various parts of the country ahead of the official opening by President Mugabe tomorrow, while accreditation of delegates at the party headquarters is ongoing.
This came as the party held elections in some provinces yesterday for the Women’s League to fill slots for central committee members, which saw some party heavyweights in the organ falling by the way side.

The Women’s League will hold its conference next week.

Zanu-PF Manicaland deputy chairman, Cde Elliot Kasu, confirmed the results which were held peacefully.
In Mashonaland West, the revolutionary party finalised the quota for the Women’s League in the national executive following elections in three districts.

Mashonaland Central and Harare provincial executives said they were still finalising the results and would make them known today.
Masvingo and the Midlands will hold their elections today, after the two provinces held their district elections yesterday.

The Youth League conference got a boost yesterday when Affirmative Action Group donated bottled water, soft drinks and stationery worth $5,000.

The conference runs from today until Sunday, with the highlight being the elections of the deputy secretary that will be held on Saturday. The winner will serve in the politburo.
