Zanu-PF youths have penned a song in which they encourage citizens to take heed Government’s lockdown regulations.

The Kadoma-based youths, who rose to fame after dedicating a song to the party’s First Secretary and President Cde Mnangagwa following a bomb explosion in Bulawayo in 2018, said the pandemic can be defeated if people unite.

Titled “Let’s fight corona”, the track was done by the Zanu PF youths who include Mashonaland West provincial Youth League member Cde Gift Maskini and Kadoma ward 3 District chairperson, Cde Norman Phiri.

Cde Maskini is popularly known as Skinner, while Cde Phiri is called Nastro in the music circles.

In an interview, Cde Maskini said the song challenged people to seriously take heed of President Mnangagwa’s call to observe the national lockdown regulations.

“The song is about warning people of the deadly disease, Covid-19,” he said. “It also calls for unity across the religious and political divide in the fight against the pandemic.

“Some of the lyrics urge people to immediately seek medical attention if they suspect signs and symptoms of Covid-19.”

The track recorded in Kadoma by Brendon Maskini of Proper Bliqxz Studio and is available on various social media platforms.

Cde Maskini said they were working on the video for the song.

The project is funded by a local organisation, Skimpo City 68.

Other artists that feature on the track are Aibo Mutesva (Troy), Francis Majono (Pastor Michael), Taponeswa Meza (Minister Tapo), Natasha Mkwiza (Tashie) and Sasha Guta (Sasha G-city).
