Celebrations will begin at 9am with a march from the Large City Hall Car Park to George Silundika towards Sixth Avenue and up to Jason Moyo Street and then back along 9th Avenue towards George Silundika and back to the venue.
Tomorrow churches will hold celebrations in their respective locations.
In an interview yesterday, organiser of the Bulawayo event, Pastor Patrick Marukutira, said the price paid by the founders, Apostles Professor Ezekiel Guti and wife Doctor Eunor Guti should have all the honour and praise given to God for their ultimate sacrifice.
“Our Father Apostle Prof Guti paid a very heavy price. He had to overcome insurmountable problems that included family tragedies, betrayals, isolation, and persecutions by the religious establishment. He had to rely and depend on God completely. In the book of Proverbs 22:28 we are admonished not to remove the landmark that was put here by our fathers,” he said.
Pastor Marukutira said the celebrations should be a time of reflection of what has been achieved by the church and guarding jealously the word of God.
“Our celebrations should also be a time of reflection. We should consider the heritage we have been given and prioritise keeping and protecting it. There are things that can change and others that do not change. It is important to distinguish between the changeable from the changeless.
“While methods, programmes and technology may change the message does not change,” he said.
ZAOGA FIF was founded by renowned Apostle Prof Guti in Bindura in 1950.
An angel first appeared to Prof Guti in his home village of Ngaone in Chipinge and said to him “Fear not, sin not”.
He then started a church and at the time it had less than half a dozen people under a gum tree.
ZAOGA FIF has more than 2 000 churches in Southern Africa.
