Forty-five agriculture students from across Zimbabwe will complete their studies under a fully funded three-year Zimbabwe Agricultural Society (ZAS) scholarship worth US$240 000.
Speaking at the launch, Deputy Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, David Marapira, said the initiative was a major boost to skills development and rural industrialisation.
“Forty-five pioneering young minds have been selected. Their three-year academic journey will now be unburdened by financial constraints, thanks to this transformative investment,” he said.
ZAS president, Mr Ngoni Kudenga, said the programme demonstrated the society’s long-term commitment to agricultural transformation.
“The investment amounts to a scholarship value of US$240 000 over the next three years,” he said.
“This is a bold statement of our unwavering commitment to education, empowerment and agricultural advancement.”
Mr Lovemore Vambe, Department of Agriculture Education, said the programme would strengthen student retention and modernise the sector.
“This scholarship is both an opportunity and a call to action to help modernise Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector,” he said.
