Zazalicious, Cde Phil optimistic

EVER bubbly TV personality Zazalicious (real name Zandile Ndlovu) and jovial radio personality Cde Phil (real name Philip Moyo) have expressed confidence that the arts sector will once again open.

Live events have arguably been regarded as the pinnacle to artistes’ financial muscle and the Covid-19 lockdown has for the past months affected that.

The two media practitioners who have roots in Bulawayo have been fortunate to land online gigs, something that they said has been due to strengthening ties with the corporate sector which has greatly assisted many artistes during this tough time.

Zazalicious and Cde Phil this past weekend set the social media streets abuzz with their energy as they interacted swiftly with audiences during Nyaradzo Group’s Sahwira Wear second draw.

Speaking after the event, Zazalicious said she is pinning her hopes on the arts sector reopening.

“It’s very encouraging that Government is letting events and normalcy return to near normal provided we have our vaccination certificates,” she said.

“MCing the Nyaradzo Group draws is always such a pleasure especially when I interact with the fans and winners.

“I get to share their joy with them and this is very fulfilling. I’ve worked with the Nyaradzo Group for a very long time and they’ve become like family to me.

“This is the same with most of my corporate and individual clients. My strength lies in developing and nurturing these relationships and ensuring my clients’ visions come to fruition,” said Zazalicious.

She said be it corporate events, weddings and award ceremonies, she is always prepared to deliver a quality and memorable service. Interestingly, Zazalicious has bookings till next year.

“My calendar is nearly full till January next year. We’re now in the busiest season as summer is here and I’m excited at being able to travel around the country doing what I love, which is MCing and interacting with people from various backgrounds. Ngingu muntu  Wabantu.”

Khulumani FM’s Cde Phil also paid homage to Nyaradzo Group and said his target for this year was to grow his brand outside radio.

“I’d like to thank Nyaradzo for entrusting me with their brand. It’s not every day that  someone gets to be recognised by such big corporations.

“When the year began, it was my wish to grow the Cde Phil brand from festivals and radio stations to tapping the corporate niche side,” he said.

Cde Phil added that working alongside Zazalicious was a bonus as the two worked together seamlessly.

“Partnering MCs needs people who sync and complement each other and being paired with Zaza was a blessing as we share the same energy. Also having the CEO of Nyaradzo commenting on my page showed that I was doing something right,” said Cde Phil. — @mthabisi_mthire
