ZBC to screen Zim, Angola match

ZBC public relations manager, Sivukile Simango, yesterday revealed that they will try to screen the match live on national television.
“Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation is pleased to advice its viewers and listeners that the national broadcaster will broadcast live the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations between the Zimbabwe Warriors and Palancas Negras of Angola on Sunday October 14 2012, at 17:00 hours,” Simango said in a statement.
Hopes are high that the Warriors will be able to maintain their advantage and book a berth at the finals.
The squad has been boosted by the availability of Germany-based striker Knowledge Musona and midfield general Tinashe Nengomasha.
The duo missed the first match following a breakdown in communication between Zifa and their clubs while Musona also revealed later that he was injured.
Coach Rahman Gumbo has also beefed up his side by drafting Edward Sadomba, Cuthbert Malajila, Kingston Nkhata, Lincoln Zvasiya, Liberty Ndadzungaira and Energy Murambadoro into the side.
Simango said ZBC will also broadcast the Young Warriors’ African Youth Championship qualifier against Congo.
The national Under-17 host Congo in the first round, first leg of the qualifiers at Rufaro tomorrow.

After a period in which football matches were no longer being broadcast live, even on radio, things have changed dramatically with the entrance of Zimpapers’ Star FM radio that has a big emphasis on the coverage of sport.
