The Zimbabwe Building Contractors Association (ZBCA), the voice of the construction sector since 1985, is set to convene its annual conference from November 4 to 7, 2026 at the historic Great Zimbabwe Hotel in Masvingo.

This year’s gathering promises to be a transformational colloquium of industry leaders, policymakers, financiers and innovators.

The conference will run under the theme: “Elevating Zimbabwe’s Construction Industry for World Class Excellence through Regulatory Reforms, Digital Transformation and Smart Construction.”

The event will not only draw Zimbabwe’s finest minds in construction, but will also be graced by distinguished international speakers from across the region.

Their presence underscores the conference’s stature as a continental platform for dialogue, innovation and collaboration.

By bringing together thought leaders from Southern Africa and beyond, the event will enrich discussions with diverse perspectives. This will allow us to benchmark our progress against regional practices. International participation escalates the conference into a conclave of strategies for the desired African construction future.

On the sidelines of the event, the ZBCA will officially unveil the Young Contractors’ Desk.

This is a platform dedicated to empowering Zimbabwe’s next generation of builders.

This initiative will seek to nurture youthful talent, foster entrepreneurship and ensure that the country’s construction industry remains vibrant, innovative and future ready.

The Young Contractors’ Desk is a strategic investment towards future-proofing our industry. By equipping young professionals with mentorship, training and opportunities, we are laying the foundation for a globally competitive sector.

Delegates can expect robust discussions and strategic outcomes across five key pillars covering smart construction, sustainable growth, regulatory reforms, digital transformation and industry excellence.

The conference will also provide a platform for continental dialogue, aligning Zimbabwe’s construction sector with AfCFTA, Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals.

This will ensure local contractors are recognised as architects of Africa’s future.

ZBCA extends a clarion call to contractors, policymakers, financiers, industry, innovators and the academia to be part of this high-level conference. We should increase our impetus to embed excellence as our DNA and ensure that every project completed meets desired world-class standards.
