THE Zimbabwe Christian Film (ZCF) has launched a training programme to empower film producers to come up with content to promote the religion.
Dubbed ‘Zimbabwe Christian Film Boot Camp’, the training event attracted about 137 producers who are likely to participate at the International Christian Film Festival scheduled for November 2018. ZCF editing and production designer Pastor Angeline Dimingo said there was a shortage of locally produced Christian films, hence the need to groom more producers.
“The fact that 85 percent of the Zimbabwean populace presents a potential audience and with the number of Christian films that we have produced locally, it shows that there is a huge gap.
“It is upon this back ground that I joined hands with Marian Kunonga, Charles Matare and Testimonies Media to bring people together for Christian film production training.” She explained that future film boot camps will be open to other religions.
“This boot camp focuses on the entire film production network from shooting, editing until the final product.
“We divided it into segments representative of the developmental stages a professional production process goes through.
“Our curriculum embraces both theory and the practicals – focusing on all three stages of production. (the pre-production, production and post-production processes).
