ZDF Commander General Matatu confers Lieutenant General Tapfumaneyi with new rank as army boss

Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) Commander, General Emmanuel Matatu has conferred Lieutenant General Asher Walter Tapfumaneyi with his new rank as Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) Commander at a ceremony held at Zimbabwe Defence House today.

Lieutenant General Tapfumaneyi took over the role on November 21, following the promotion of General Emmanuel Matatu to become ZDF Commander.

During today’s ceremony, Lieutenant General Tapfumaneyi vowed to uphold the national Constitution and follow the guidance of the ZDF Commander.
