IN preparation for the 2026 Zimbabwe Defence Forces Day celebrations, there will be a rehearsal march involving military personnel and equipment from today until Tuesday.

The procession will move from Charles Gumbo Barracks, formerly 1 Commando Regiment, to Rufaro Stadium in Harare, which is the venue for this year’s celebrations.

According to the ZDF, the procession will depart Charles Gumbo Barracks and proceed along Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Expressway, formerly Airport Road, before turning into Vitalis Zvinavashe Road, previously called Dieppe Avenue.

The procession will then follow Cripps Road to Remembrance Drive, which leads to Rufaro Stadium.

The rehearsals form part of preparations for the annual Zimbabwe Defence Forces Day commemorations.

In a statement yesterday, the ZDF said: “The general public is, therefore, urged not to panic, but rather join and celebrate together with the Zimbabwe Defence Forces.”

Motorists and members of the public are encouraged to take note of the movement of military personnel and equipment along the designated route during the rehearsal period.
