CHICKEN Inn Foootball Club have recalled out of contract defender Zephania Ngodzo who a fortnight ago was trying his luck at his old club Highlanders. Ngodzo was left out in the cold by Chicken Inn after his contract ran out at the end of last season forcing him to retrace his footsteps to his childhood club.It is believed Highlanders gave Ngodzo, who had been tipped to fill the right back position, a cold shoulder.

The 29-year-old hard tackling defender confirmed that he is back at Chicken Inn.
“Yes I am back at Chicken Inn, they are now finalising the deal maybe tomorrow (today) it will be done,” said Ngodzo.

Ngodzo said his focus was to continue fighting for a first team place after spending most of last season on the bench.
“I’m always fighting to be in the first team, that’s my focus for now, all I want is to impress the coach,” he said.

The former FC Platinum defender is expected to fill the void left by Felix Chindungwe who joined Highlanders. Ngodzo is also on the radar of Premier Soccer League returnees Bantu Rovers who are rebuilding after buying a franchise from Plumtree Chiefs.

The Gamecocks are still beefing up after an exodus of players such as Chindungwe, Kudakwashe Mahachi and Tendai Ndoro who left the club while Danny Phiri is also eager to leave the fast-foods outlet sponsored side.

Joey Antipas has landed the services of Passmore Bernard from Motor Action as well as the relegated Monomotapa duo of Morgan Mukombwe and Ishmael Lawe.
Former Highlanders gunman Graham Ncube has joined the Gamecocks as well.
