signature in a bid to secure a visa to Australia.
Emelda Mvelasi (45) of Mount Pleasant in Harare was convicted on her own plea of guilty to forgery charges when she appeared before magistrate Ms Fadzai Mutavayi.
Mvelasi will know her sentence today.
Zesa loss control manager Lordshare Taika represented the power utility.
Prosecutor Ms Auxillia Mangwaira, told the court that Mvelasi was once employed by Zesa as human resources manager. Mvelasi wrote a letter on May 13 on a Zesa letterhead. The letter was addressed to the Australian Embassy.
In the letter Mvelasi forged the senior manager administration Sarah Dube’s signature.
In the misrepresentation, Mvelasi purported to be Dube with the intention of positioning herself as the human resources manager.
She intended to use the letter to secure a visa to travel to Australia.
