Zesa, Mighty Queens in Netball League

MIGHTY Queens will seek to continue their fine form when they clash with Zesa today in a Bulawayo Province Netball League match at Emakhandeni grounds. Mighty Queens are second on the log standings and are level on 12 points with Zesa who have two games in hand. Mighty Queens’ won their last game against Ntabazinduna Prison 41-16 while Zesa thrashed Free Stars 45-3.
Youthful Mighty Queens’ are pinning their hopes on youngsters such as Nomagugu Makhalima, Sisa Mpofu and Sanele Sibanda when they take on experienced Zesa.

Mighty Queens coach Connie Bhuka declared her youngsters ready to play against Zesa.
“Zesa are a good side but we are ready and hoping to continue on our fine form.

“We have Under 20s such Nomagugu and Sisa they are playing well so we are up for the challenge as we are still building a team,” Bhuka said.
Zesa top points scorer Duduzile Dlamini is doubtful for the game as she suffered a knock while playing against Free Stars.

Captains Shylet “Mawhite” Chikumbirike is expected to be at her best in defence when they clash with Mighty Queens.
Monica Dube believes her side can upset Mighty Queens youngsters when they visit.

“With the performance of my team we can win but they are the best so we can’t underestimate them,” said Dube.
In other fixtures to be played today high-flying Ntutu Sparrows seek to maintain their unbeaten run when they take on Lobengula Queens.
Jumbo Queens play Phakamani and Railstars take on Unit Fairbridge while Zimpost clash with Old Nic Mine.
