The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company will tomorrow carry out a planned shutdown to allow for maintenance work in most of Harare’s western suburbs.Electricity supply would be cut tomorrow from 6am to 6pm.

Zesa spokesperson Mr Fullard Gwasira said the shutdown has been necessitated by urgent critical maintenance work to be carried out by the national power utility. “It is a norm that towards the winter season we do maintenance work so that we avoid erratic power supplies,” he said.

“Areas in Masvingo and Manicaland provinces are likely to be affected as maintenance work will also be carried out in these areas. We also advise our customers to be extra cautious and switch off their electrical appliances to avoid loss of property,” Mr Gwasira said.

Areas in Harare likely to be affected by the shutdown include Budiriro, Kambuzuma, Dzivaresekwa Extension, Marlborough, Bluff Hill, and parts of Willowvale industries among many others.
